 >To start the academic year off well, we are bringing together a grow
 ing network of educators at VU who share a commitment to meaningful, 
 societally engaged teaching on <strong>8 September 12:00 - 13:00</str
 ong>. "CSL presents: A Broader Mind in Practice" is designed not just
  as a learning session, but as a space where colleagues can find each
  other, see who else is working on this, and keep lines short.</p><p>
 Together we explore how Community Service Learning can help make your
  course truly A Broader Mind-proof, going beyond the surface to look 
 at what it actually takes to design education that is transformative 
 for students. That means grappling with real questions: How do you em
 bed reciprocity? How do you create the kind of learning experience th
 at genuinely challenges students to see themselves in relation to soc
 iety?</p><p>The session includes a short introduction and expert pers
 pectives from colleagues at VU who are already doing this work. One o
 f our experts is Frederique Demeijer, Assistant Professor of Transfor
 mative Learning at the Athena Institute and recent recipient of the C
 omenius Teaching Fellow grant for her work on embodied learning in tr
 ansdisciplinary education.</p><p>You will leave with:</p><ul>  <li>Co
 ncrete ideas and ingredients to design or strengthen societally engag
 ed education in your course</li>  <li>New connections with colleagues
  across VU who share the same ambition</li>  <li>We will work toward 
 a concrete first step, something like a blueprint or roadmap, and we 
 want to hear from you what would actually be most useful to take home
