Public speaking and arguing; at uni this is expected of you, but this can be qu ite daunting or downright scary. In this event series we will th erefore practice public speaking and arguing in an accessible&nb sp;and playful way. That way you'll walk into you r seminars with a bit more confidence.

Being a student mea ns sinking your teeth into complex material, trying to absorb a lot o f new knowledge, and increasingly becoming an expert in your field. H owever, being a student also means giving presentations and actively& nbsp;participating in seminars. In other words, it not only requ ires you to know your stuff, but also that you can persuasively prese nt your vision and dare to brainstorm and debate with your fellow stu dents. 
 
You might be able to prepare a presentation down to the finest detail if needed, but especially in seminars, you will primarily have to rely on your speaking skills. While some stud ents will feel right at home in this environment, by no means everyon e is a big fan of public speaking. 
 
Even so, everyone will have to face it sooner or later, which is why the 3D Dialogue Center VU is organizing an event series to tackl e this head-on. In an accessible way, and above all with pl enty of room for fun, we will practice public speaking and especially arguing. That way, you will hopefully feel a bit more relaxed sittin g down for your lectures. 
 
In this first event we w ill primarily practice public speaking in general. In the second even t on October 6th, we will explicitly engage with public argumentation . In the third event on October 27th, we will focus on critical liste ning and posing insightful questions.
