How do we view GenAI: a s an opportunity, a risk, or something in between? In this session, y ou will engage in discussions about different perspectives and uncove r the assumptions that underpin them.

You will develop your o wn informed position on the role of GenAI in society and what this me ans for education and future professionals.

At the end of the s ession, you will be able to:

Explain how different perspectives on GenAI (techno-optimists, techno-realists and te chno-critics) relate to one another.
Analyze&nb sp;the arguments and assumptions behind these perspectives and i dentify the key differences and tensions.
Formulate well-reasoned positions on the societal role of GenAI, incl uding implications for education and future professionals.
