 d ART SCIENCE dialogue of Realms of Reality with artist Fiona Lutjenh
 uis and researcher Hijme Stoffels. Miranda van Holland will be modera
 ting. The conversation forms part of a collaboration with 3D and will
  take place in the gallery.</p></p> <p>The third ART SCIENCE dialogue
 &nbsp;of <a href="https://www.artsciencegallery.nl/exhibition/realms-
 of-reality/" data-new-window="true" title="Exhibition Realms of Reali
 ty" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>Realms of Reality</
 em></a> will center Lutjenhuis’s work and further articulate the co
 nceptual origins and implications of the pieces in the exhibition. Th
 e connective throughline of her practice is the depiction and reinter
 pretation of the religious ideologies of her upbringing. Central to t
 his particular selection are the relationship between naturalistic an
 d fantasmagorical imagery; tensions between simultaneous emotional ev
 ocations such as fear/wonder, joy/sorrow, humor/suspicion; and, of co
 urse, the complexity and consequences, both positive and negative, of
  esoteric religions within society and upon the individual. The conve
 rsation forms part of a collaboration with <a href="https://vu.nl/en/
 about-vu/organisations/3d" data-new-window="true" title="3D: dialogue
  &amp; connection" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">3D</a>.<
 /p><p><strong>Fiona Lutjenhuis</strong> is a Dutch artist currently l
 iving and working in Amsterdam. She uses her unusual childhood to vie
 w contemporary discourse through a theosophical lens. In recent years
 , she has immersed herself in the archives of the sect she grew up wi
 th, as well as in the broader religious movements that have been blen
 ded or distorted in that group’s ideology. She holds a bachelor’s
  of fine art from ArtEZ University of the Arts, Arnhem and was a resi
 dent at the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam from 2022 to 2024. In 2024 she
  was nominated for the Scheffer Art Prize, in 2025 for the Prix de Ro
 me, and she won the NN Art Award in 2026. She has exhibited in variou
 s museums and project spaces, such as Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, 164
 6, H3H Biennale, Drawing Centre Diepenheim, Noordbrabants Museum and 
 Kunsthal Rotterdam; her work is also held in many notable collections
  such as that of Antoni van Leeuwenhoek, Collectie Mondriaan Fonds, a
 nd the Dordrecht museum.</p><p><strong>Hijme Stoffels </strong>is an 
 Emeritus Professor of Sociology of Religion at VU Amsterdam. He is wi
 dely recognized as one of the leading experts on contemporary Christi
 an movements in the Netherlands, particularly evangelicalism, orthodo
 x Protestantism, and new religious phenomena. Stoffels’ work bridge
 s theology and sociology, capturing how religious life has transforme
 d over successive generations. He became a pioneer in studying the ri
 se of the Dutch evangelical movement. His 1990 doctoral dissertation,
  <em>“Wandelen in het licht”</em> (Walking in the Light), remains
  a foundational academic analysis of this community in the Netherland
 s. Alongside theologian Gerben Heitink, he co-edited books exploring 
 the phenomenon of people who maintain a personal faith or spiritualit
 y but choose to detach from traditional church institutions (<em>Niet
  zo’n kerkganger</em>, 2003).</p><p><strong>Jasmijn Mol</strong>&nb
 sp;is a contemporary art historian, curator, writer, and editor based
  in Amsterdam. She graduated from the research master Critical Studie
 s in Art and Culture at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in 2024. <br>Mol
  has gained experience at various organizations, including Stedelijk 
 Museum, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam/VU Art Science Gallery and Tijds
 chrift Kunstlicht, as well as contributed to various artist publicati
 ons. Her interests lie in trans-historical and paradoxical concepts s
 uch as the use of ancient or occult practices as solutions for contem
 porary issues, as well as the alchemical affordances of objects and m
 ateriality. Her research and curatorial practice manifests as a call 
 to always look for the Angelic in the Everyday.</p> </body> </html>
