ABRI would like to i nvite you to submit your (self-)nominations for the ABRI Excellence i n Business Studies Awards 2025/2026. Please find the call for nominat ions below.

At ABRI, we are proud to have a community of ambitious PhD candidates and faculty members who aspire to become leading researchers in their field of expertise. The ABRI Excellence in Business Studies Awards aim to recognize the outstanding work of o ur talented junior colleagues and acknowledge their contribution to s cience, business, and society.

ABRI is soliciting nominat ions for the ABRI Excellence in Business Studies Awards for papers th at have been published in 2025/2026 in two categories:

B est PhD Student Paper Award
Best Junior Faculty Paper Award

Eligibility Criteria

Papers nominated for the Best PhD Student Paper award need to capture original work b y a PhD student. While the nominated paper does not have to be part o f the dissertation, the PhD student needs to be the lead contributor, which implies that the PhD student is listed as the first author.
Papers nominated for the Best Junior Faculty Paper Award need to have an ABRI junior faculty member (Assistant Professor or Post-d oc) as the lead contributor, which implies that they are listed as fi rst author or corresponding author.
Nominated papers need t o have been published between 30.06.2025 and 30.06.2026 (publication in a journal issue as well as online-first publications will be consi dered).

Submission Procedure, Evaluation, and Award Annou ncement

Submit your nomination (self-nominations are acc epted) online by June 30, 2026, indicating if the research is nominated f or the PhD Student or Junior Faculty Award.

Upload a PDF co py of the nominated article with the nomination.

Prepare a brief motivation explaining why the nominated work deserves to be con sidered for the award in terms of:

Origi nality (this aspect may include the novelty of a theoretical contribu tion, methodological innovation, or capturing of an original or under studied phenomenon/problem)

Rigor (including both met hodological as well as conceptual rigor)

Utility (exp laining why the insights provided by the work are relevant and have p otential societal impact)

A jury consisting of members from all ABRI tracks will evaluate the nominat ions.

The winners of the award will be announced at the ann ual ABRI BBQ event.
