Meredith Whit taker is a global advocate for privacy and digital rights. She spent over ten years at Google, co-founded the AI Now Institute, and has ad vised governments on AI and technology policy. For her, privacy ultim ately revolves around power: who has access to our data and who sets the rules? This involves much more than just our personal information . It’s a hot topic that ties in perfectly with VU Amsterdam’s ann ual theme: Free Thinkers.

During this event, we will gain insight into Meredith Whittaker as a person and the experiences that have shaped her journey to becoming the pres ident of the Signal Foundation.
