As the impacts of climate change intensify, the connection between science, risk, and policy has never been more crucial. Join us for an open and insightful evening exploring the state of the climate, the latest science on extreme weather and risk, and what must be done now to shape resilient and evidence-based climate policy.

  • 16.00 – 16.45: Prof. Dr. Robert Vautard, Chair of IPCC Working Group I (The Physical Science Basis) – 30 min presentation + 15 min Q&A 
  • 16.45 – 17.05: Tamara Happé, XAIDA ECS. What have we learned in XAIDA + what should come next? – 12min presentation + 8min Q&A 
  • 17.05 – 17.25: Sophie Buijs, MYRIAD ECS. What have we learned in MYRIAD + what should come next? – 12min presentation + 8min Q&A 

17.25 - 18.00 Break, drinks & snacks (NU-Building, Eventspot) - digital presentations 

18.00 - 19.30 SESSION 2 (NU-Building, Theater 3

  • 18.00 – 18.45: Prof. Dr. Bart van den Hurk, Chair of IPCC Working Group II (Impacts, Adaptation, and Vulnerability) – 30 min presentation + 15 min Q&A 
  • 18.45 – 19.30: Jenty Kirsch-Wood, Head Global Risk Analysis and Reporting Section, UNDRR – 30 min presentation + 15 min Q&A 

Together, these presentations will illuminate the pathways from scientific understanding to effective climate action. Following the talks, there will be ample time for discussion with the audience — including invited journalists, policymakers, scientists and other stakeholders.

A network dinner will follow, offering an opportunity for continued exchange among selected participants.
