In the Talma lecture, Kees Boersma will introduce and critically discuss novel organizational approaches and innovative uses of data in crisis management and humanitarian response.

He will address issues such as localization of aid, collective ownership of data and information, and will use data ecosystems in an attempt to transcend the top-down – bottom-up dichotomy.

Dr. Marc van den Homberg and MSc Jonath Lijftogt from the 510 - Humanitarian Data Exchange group of the Netherlands Red Cross will give their reactions to the lecture.
