VU Amsterdam participates in the Charter ‘Talent to the Top’. The Charter was developed in 2008 under the leadership of former minister Sybilla Dekker in close consultation with the business sector, public bodies and the Ministries of Economic Affairs and Education, Culture & Science. The aim is to achieve a higher intake, promotion and retention of female talent in top jobs.
VU Amsterdam’s target is to have 25% female professors in 2020.
In order to achieve this, the VU is employing a number of methods such as increasing the number of Fenna Diemer Lindeboom chairs for female professors.
In addition, there are opportunities to tailor one’s career according to one’s personal needs and wishes. Special attention is given to recruiting, developing the talent of and encouraging women to take up senior academic posts at VU Amsterdam.
