Open Science is an international academic movement that aims for accessibility of scientific publications and data. It encompasses practices such as Open Access publishing, making data Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable and attributing credit to scientific contributions.

Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam wants to make your contributions to Open Science as easy as possible by: 

Making it easy for you to publish Open Access
Publication guidance, choosing the right journal, publish for free in Open Access with discount deals on article processing charges (APC), policies and author rights, solutions to funding requirement on Open Access, full-text deposit help in repository, guidance in flipping journals to Open Access, lunch lectures on Open Access publishing possibilities, Gold Open Access, Green Open Access.

Providing multiple Research Data Services

  • Before research
    Assist with data management planning (DMP), solutions for meeting funder requirements, estimating data storage, choosing the right data storage solutions, preparing you for privacy and legal concerns, DMP-training.
  • During research
    Assist with making FAIR data (findable, accessible, interoperable, reproducible), training on high-performance computing (HPC), data anonymization and encryption.
  • After research
    Assist with data archiving, open archiving, making your data citable, dark archiving, restrictive access for verification.
