Find the calendar with upcoming training and workshops here!

Training and workshops

  • Software carpentries

Software carpentries aims to help researchers get their work done in less time and with less pain by teaching them basic research computing skills. Find more information and enroll via the VULibCal

  • Write a data management plan

A Data Management Plan (DMP) serves as a guide for all types of research and data collection. It assists in planning the data collection and organisation, and helps in paying attention to certain regulations, law, licenses and ethical guidelines. See the Write a DMP page for more information.

  • Training days

Expertise in RDM and OS are distributed across several parts of the VU. To keep colleagues up to date on each other's expertise, every summer and winter the Traing Days are organised. See the Summer training days 2022 to sign up and get inspired for the next edition.

  • Data conversations

The monthly VU Data Conversations are intended for VU Amsterdam researchers, students, support and management staff, data stewards and data specialists. The goal of these meetings is to create a space for knowledge sharing between different faculties and disciplines.

  • Getting started with Open Science Framework

The OSF is an open-source project management tool that supports researchers throughout their entire project lifecycle. You might find the training useful if you are looking for new ways to organize your work, collaborate with colleagues, and share your research data or outputs. Find the next training on the VULibCal.
