The second floor of the north side (De Boelelaan) of VU Amsterdam's New University Building boasts a professional and appealing university conference centre. The conference centre has eight rooms in varying sizes to accommodate groups of between 14 and 32 people.
In addition to these meeting rooms the centre has an open zone for short, bilateral consultations and multiple foyers for working on your laptop, for setting up banqueting services, or for meeting others. The conference centre has a foyer with coffee and tea facilities, which may be used by visitors.
Audiovisual and IT facilities
All rooms are complete with professional and easy to use audiovisual equipment for presentations. The room for 32 people (02A-65) has a 75-inch screen that is easily visible from every seat. Our other screens are 55 inches. All screens are on moveable trolleys with operating panels, and instructions on how to use the screens can be found in every room. You can also find an HDMI and USB-C cable for connecting your laptop to your screen and
WePresent has been installed in every room. Wireless presentations are possible. Of course Wi-Fi is available everywhere. External visitors and guests can use the IT facilities free of charge using a guest account. Request a guest account (as a VU employee) via the IT Service Desk. The guest will receive information about how to make a temporary account to access the Wi-Fi network by email or text.
All rooms have a flipchart and a coat rack.
Reserving rooms
VU employees and the PBL post-grad programme may reserve rooms via the facility services’ catalogue on the Service Portal via ‘reserve room (separate)’. If you also wish to request banqueting or other facilities (such as an AV technician or a new room layout) with your room reservation, then please use ‘reserve meeting/events room (compiled)’. If you are not a VU Amsterdam employee, then please contact our FCO Service Desk. They will make a reservation for you using your debtor reference number. For PBL, VU events and non-employees, costs are involved in the use of the rooms. These will be charged afterwards based on the number of hours reserved.
