The Scientific and Ethical Review Board (VCWE)
The Scientific and Ethical Review Board (VCWE) provides advice, invited and uninvited, to the Faculty Board about all issues that concern the organization and quality of research within the faculty. Main tasks are the assessment of research protocols ethical aspects and the assessment of research proposals on scientific quality.
Ethical review
Researchers and their research are expected to comply with the ethical guidelines of the faculty, as laid down in the national Code of Ethics for Research in the Social and Behavioural Sciences, as well as its local implementation (see Documents and forms). The VCWE is there to help you in assessing compliance.Scientific review
You can also submit a proposal for scientific review alone, for example a grant proposal, or because the medical ethical review committee ( METC ) asks you for a scientific review from your own faculty or institute. You can submit the proposal through the web portal above.Contact details
