A special form of education is contract education.
Contract education means that as a non-student you can follow certain subjects. Are you too busy to start a full study, but do you want to learn more about subjects that are offered at the Faculty of Social Sciences? This can be done through contract education.
In this document, you can find a list of all courses that you can take at the Faculty of Social Sciences (including costs).
A description of these courses can be found in the online study guide of the FSS. The lecture schedule per course can be consulted on the schedule website of the VU: rooster.vu.nl.
With the web form you can sign up for one or more courses. We request you to sign up for the course at least 6 weeks before the start of the course. When you have filled in the application form, you will receive an invoice to transfer the amount. The FSS education office will then make sure you have access to the digital environment of the course.
Costs and payment
The costs are mentioned in the document above with the course offerings. Alumni of FSW receive a special discount. The amount includes taking the exam and a maximum of one resit.
The payment must be received by us before the start of the course. Any literature and syllabi are not included in the price and must be purchased through, for example, the VU bookshop.
Payment in terms not possible
It is not possible to complete the payment in terms. An automatic invoice is sent for the courses for which you have registered. If you take courses in different periods and want to spread the costs, you can choose to re-register each period for these courses.
Cancellation of courses is possible until 10 working days before the start of the course. After this, a refund of the course fee is not possible. In case of timely cancellation, an administration fee of €50, - is charged.
As soon as the exam result is known (mostly within 10 working days after the exam) your grade will appear in VUnet. If you did not pass the first exam, you can participate in the resit. To be registered for the resit, you should email firstname.lastname@example.org at least two weeks in advance with a request to register for the resit. Please mention that you are a contract student.
A certificate can be requested per e-mail at the Education Office after successfully completing the course.
