Six Master’s programmes at VU Amsterdam awarded ‘Top Rated Programme’
Based on student input, CHOI’s Keuzegids 2017 has awarded six Master’s programmes at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam the distinction of ‘Top Rated Programme’.
Two of the programmes, Parallel and Distributed Computer Systems and Tax Law, attained a top-20 position in the guide’s yearly Master’s programme ranking. A total of 144 Master’s programmes received a mark of 7.5 or higher in the survey.
The Keuzegids assesses and compares Master’s programmes based on input from experts in the field of higher education, as well as on student input from the National Student Survey, which was conducted in October 2016. Approximately 35 percent of Dutch Master’s students took part in the survey. Data on programme size, language of tuition, method of instruction and tuition fees also played an important role in the ranking process. The general aim of the guide is to help prospective students choose the right Master’s programme for them. Overall, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam came in seventh out of the nine ‘general’ universities in the Netherlands with a score of 57.5, ranking just behind Erasmus University Rotterdam (58 points) and Utrecht University (59 points).
